In the Silver Division, Team Wild was a dominate force and took the Silver Championship with a commanding 13-5 win over Minnesota.

In the Gold Division, the first overtime game in several years as the game went back and forth.  With several ties in the course of the game, CRSLax.com scored the last goal in regulation to tie the game.  In overtime CRSLax.com took the first shot on goal but Gang Green’s goalie, Julie Wadland, made the save.  Gang Green, not to be out done, took the ball and went down field. Colorado’s own Annie Liebovitz had possession at the top of the fan, made a few moves and placed the ball in the top corner for the winning goal.

The wet weather continued to cause delays for the afternoon games.  Even with delays the Gold Division semi-finals were exciting.  Gang Green took a 1 goal game and CRSLax.com took a 2 goal game setting up for a final championship on Sunday at Ford Field.  In the Silver Division, Minnesota pulled some surprises and will play Team Wild for the Silver Championship.

Friday culminates the pool play as we head into the Championship and Consolation Brackets starting early Saturday. Every team will be playing two games tomorrow, and the competition should start heating up, hopefully the weather will too! We should start seeing some more closely contested games as the day continues tomorrow. Devon Wills is playing for team Gang Green, coming fresh out of playing goal for the US World Cup team in Prague. Devon is a Colorado native, and is always exciting to watch. So if you see her out and about, congratulate her on the US Women’s World Cup win!  Her point blank stops in Prague, saved the championship for the good ole’ USA!

Will Gang Green and CRSlax.com hold on to their undefeated slots in Pool A and Pool B? The drama unfolds Saturday!

Thursday and Day 1 is complete.  A rain delay caused a longer day than expected.  The last game was wet but the spirits were high.  The first day saw the top seeds winning with the exception of Pool A.  TexLax, the bottom seed, was down 6 to 2 but came back to win the close contest, 13-12.  In Pool B Lizards were set to take over the pool and hold their 7-4 lead.  CRSLax.com continued the fight and edged their way back to a 7-7 tie in regulation.  With a minute to go in OT, Rachel Culp made a beautiful spin move and placed the shot in the top left corner to steal the win and the top position in the pool.
